Biography
Federico Frank is part of the Exploratory Modeling of Human-natural Systems Research Group in the IIASA Advancing Systems Analysis Program. He focuses on the development of integrative models of different complexity to understand complex feedbacks in human-natural systems, particularly through the FABLE calculator.Prior to joining IIASA, he was a researcher at the National Institute for Agricultural Technology (INTA) and at Fundacion Bariloche, as well as graduate and post-graduate teacher at the Universidad Nacional de La Pampa and other universities in Argentina. Frank specializes in the causes, consequences, and adaptation and mitigation strategies for climate change at the regional, national, and global scales. He also focuses on the modeling of agricultural and food systems, land use, ecosystem services, and the environmental impacts of agriculture.
He holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in natural resources, as well as a PhD in agricultural sciences. He has authored and contributed to several publications in his field of work.
