Biography

Clara Frezal joined the Integrated Biosphere Futures Research Group of the IIASA Biodiversity and Natural Resources Program as a research scholar in April 2025. She is working on scenario and policy analysis of sustainable pathways for agriculture, forestry, and other land uses as part of the EU CLEVER and BIOCLIMA3 projects, and the ongoing Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)-IIASA Forest Sector Outlook Study.

She is currently on sabbatical from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Trade and Agriculture Directorate where she worked for eight years as an economist and policy analyst on topics at the intersection of agriculture, trade, and the environment. Frezal holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in environmental and natural resources economics from the Toulouse School of Economics.
