Biography
Anqi Pan is a researcher in the Migration and Sustainable Development Research Group of the IIASA Population and Just Societies Program. Her research employs quantitative modeling approaches to analyze how climate shocks interact with human (im)mobility, and socioeconomic, political, and health inequalities in polycrisis contexts.Prior to joining IIASA, she gained extensive experience across the UN system, including at the International Labour Organization (ILO), the World Bank, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Joint Data Center (JDC), and the International Organization for Migration (IOM). She specializes in translating complex data and policy analysis into clear, actionable, and policy-relevant insights for decision-makers.
She holds a Master of Science in Public Policy, with a specialization in international migration, from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), UK, and a BSocSc (Hons) in Politics and International Relations from the University of Manchester, UK. Native in Chinese and Italian, she is fluent in English and French and has working knowledge of Spanish.
