Biography

Andre Deppermann joined IIASA’s Ecosystems Services and Management Program (ESM) in October 2014 as a research scholar. His current scientific interests include the analysis of interlinkages between agricultural and energy markets and their environmental impacts. He is participating in the application and development of the Global Biosphere Management Model (GLOBIOM), currently focusing on impacts of climate change on European agriculture.

Dr. Deppermann graduated in economics with a specialization in international relations from the University of Münster, Germany and earned his PhD in agricultural economics from the University of Hohenheim, Germany. His dissertation work focused on the ex-ante measurement of redistributive effects of agricultural policy on farm incomes. Within his work, he applied a modelling system consisting of a large-scale partial equilibrium model of the European agricultural sector and a disaggregated programming model of the German agricultural sector.
