Biography

Aayushma KC completed a Joint Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Film Studies from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland. While volunteering as a research assistant at the university’s Baby and Child lab at the department of Psychology and Neuroscience, she became interested in developmental psychology, in particular how academic, cognitive and social learning impacts children’s incremental development. She completed her master’s degree with distinction in Developmental and Educational Psychology at the Institute of Education from University College London. In her thesis she examined the effect of processing speed of executive functions on mathematical achievement in primary school children.

Currently, Ms. KC is a research assistant with the Social Cohesion, Health, and Wellbeing (SHAW) research group, in the Population and Just Societies (POPJUS) program, where she is working on psychological questions of sustainable human wellbeing in the context of Prof. Wolfgang Lutz’s ERC Advanced Grant “Demography of Sustainable Human Wellbeing”.
