The Energy, Climate, and Environment Program hosts a large number of scenario ensembles and databases for the integrated assessment modelling community and various research projects.

The research theme Scenario Services & Scientific Software maintains the Scenario Explorer infrastructure and develops open-source tools for scenario analysis and data visualization. This work facilitates model comparison projects and the dissemination of research output in stakeholder-focused formats. It fosters the adoption of the FAIR principles for open science and reproducible research at IIASA and in the wider community.

The ENGAGE Scenario Explorer

The Horizon 2020 project ENGAGE quantifies avoided climate change impacts through analysis of the exposure and associated costs for individual sectors and regions to climate change at different levels of and timing for global peak temperature. A particular focus is placed on quantifying the benefits (or trade-offs) of climate policies on biodiversity, food, poverty, water, air quality, health, and employment, particularly for vulnerable populations. SSP Scenario Database

The Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSPs) will be used alongside the Representative Concentration Pathways (RCPs) to analyze the feedbacks between climate change and socioeconomic factors, such as world population growth, economic development and technological progress. AMPERE Scenario database

The AMPERE database, operated by IIASA for the AMPERE consortium, hosts the model results for work packages 2, 3, and 5, as well as the results from the model diagnostics project. AMPERE scenario data were used in a series of research papers, which were published in a special issue of Technological Forecasting and Social Change as well as other journals. In addition, the results were used in the 5th Assessment Report of Working Group III of the IPCC. More
