Biography

Tiina Häyhä joined IIASA in January 2017, as a Guest Researcher in the Ecosystems Services and Management Program (ESM). She is a researcher at the Stockholm Resilience Centre, Sweden, where she works within the Planetary Boundaries Research Lab on global sustainability challenges. Her research collaboration with IIASA focuses on exploring how circular economy can help deal with global environmental issues, with a particular focus on textile industry sector.

Dr. Häyhä holds a PhD in Environment, Resources, and Sustainable Development from Parthenope University of Naples, Italy. She has a background in environmental and ecological economics, environmental assessment, energy, and ecosystem services. In 2013, she participated in the Young Scientists Summer Program (YSSP), carrying out research within the ESM and Advanced Systems Analysis (ASA) Programs.
