Biography

Laura Warnecke joined the Pollution Management Research Group of the IIASA Energy, Climate, and Environment Program as a research assistant in 2020. Here, she primarily works on the data conversion for the Greenhouse Gas and Air Pollution Interactions and Synergies (GAINS) model with a focus on the energy, transport, and agricultural sectors.

She holds a master's degree in economics from Heidelberg University in Germany. She focused on environmental economics and statistical modeling throughout her studies and wrote her thesis about the development of electricity demand and supply scenarios in India in collaboration with the Helmholtz-Centre for Environmental Research in Leipzig. In 2023, she enrolled in the doctoral program of Social and Economic Sciences at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, working on opportunities and barriers for reducing greenhouse gas emissions from different livestock systems.
