Biography

Binh Thanh Nguyen is a research scholar/software engineer working in the Pollution Management (PM) research group, in the Energy, Climate, and Environment (ECE) program, having joined the former Air Quality and Greenhouse Gases (AIR) program in February 2008. His research topics include software technology, data warehousing and data mining systems, and Web technology.

From August 2001 to December 2004, Dr. Nguyen worked at the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) as the software project manager of GFIS (Global Forest Information Services). He was also a project assistant at the Institute for Software Technology (IFS), Technical University of Vienna, Austria. Furthermore, he was a senior lecturer in the Information Technology Department of Hue University, Vietnam where he taught courses in the fields of software technology, databases, e.g., UML (unified modeling language), unified software process, XML and Web Applications, data warehousing and data mining systems, etc..

Dr. Nguyen received his doctorate in the field of data warehouse from the Technical University of Vienna, Austria in June 2001.

In November 2016, Dr. Nguyen received his habilitation in the field of semantic linked multi-models from the University of Debrecen, Hungary.
