Biography
Chayasmita Deka is a guest research assistant in the Cooperative and Transformative Governance (CAT) Research Group of the IIASA Advancing Systems Analysis (ASA) Program and a PhD research scholar in Economics at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG), India. She was a participant in the IIASA Young Scientist Summer Program (YSSP) from June to August 2022. Previously, she was also associated with the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), India, as an academic intern. She is an economist by training with a Master’s in Applied Economics (specialization in development), from Christ University Bangalore, India, and a Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of Delhi, India.Her research interests include mitigating climate change through behavioral adaptation, structural equation modeling, cooperation and negotiation for natural resources management, applications of behavioral and experimental economics, nudging, gamification, and rebound effects in pro-environmental behavior. Currently, she is working on the Transformations within Reach (TwR) initiative in the ASA Program.
