In terms of impact, the results of all Energy (ENE) Program research activities underpin the transformational pathways analysis in the Fifth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which is expected be published in spring 2014.

For the Fifth Assessment Report, several additional special issues in different scientific journals are under preparation.

Eight ENE researchers, Volker Krey, Nebojsa Nakicenovic, Keywan Riahi, David McCollum, Jessica Jewell, Peter Kolp, Nils Johnson, and Hans-Holger Rogner are serving as Coordinating Lead Authors, Lead Authors, and Contributing Authors of the Working Group III AR5 writing team.

In addition, Joeri Rogelj serves on the writing team of the Summary for Policy Makers (SPM) of the Working Group I report, and Volker Krey and Keywan Riahi on the SPM of the Working Group III.
