The origin of new species by the evolution of assortative mating

During evolution, biological species can arise in a variety of ways, but the origin of new species is always accompanied by the evolution of reproductive isolation between the newly evolved species. We study a model in which this reproductive isolation arises as a consequence of the interaction between male and female mating strategies, and investigate the conditions required for speciation by sexual selection.
