IIASA research on climate impacts, adaptation, and mitigation is an important input to the IPCC reports. In addition to peer-reviewed research cited in the IPCC reports, 19 IIASA researchers served as authors and editors of the upcoming reports, from the IPCC’s Working Group II and III. Release of Working Group II: Impacts, adaptation, and vulnerability.
The IPCC will release the WGII report following a plenary meeting in Japan. IIASA researcher Reinhard Mechler served as a lead author on the Technical Summary and Chapter 19 of the report, on the economics of adaptation, and IIASA Director General Pavel Kabat was a review editor for Chapter 3, Freshwater Resources. German discussion forum on climate impacts, adaptation and vulnerability
IIASA researcher Reinhard Mechler will join other IPCC authors in a discussion forum to explain the new IPCC report on climate change impacts, vulnerability, and climate change. Details>>

Release of Working Group III: Mitigation of climate change
The IPCC will release the WGIII report following the plenary meeting in Berlin. Fifteen IIASA researchers served as authors or editors on the WGIII report. IIASA researchers Keywan Riahi, Volker Krey, and Nebojsa Nakicenovic will take part in the meeting and will be available in Berlin for interviews (English and German).

Austrian presentation of the IPCC WGII and WGIII reports
