"Resource of the 21st century: education" ("Ressource des 21. Jahrhunderts: Bildung") is the title of the presentation given by Wolfgang Lutz at the next issue of the "Alpbach Talks" series, organized by the Wiener Zeitung and the European Forum Alpbach.
Lutz will discuss how the world can meet the three major challenges of our time: a growing world population, regional crises that threaten the global economy at increasingly short intervals, and climate change. As expert in demography Lutz was invited to outline the central role of education in overcoming those global problems. He will present several scenarios for sustainable development, and define policy priorities to reduce poverty, strengthen democracy and cope with the consequences of climate change.
The event spans a bridge to the Alpbach discussions on education, which will be held for the first time between 19-21 August 2014 at the the European Forum Alpbach and will focus on the future of tertiary education.
