Under the title "Demographic Analysis with Application to Aging Society", this course is designed for junior scientists, researchers and graduate students whose field of interest is related to mathematical demography and population studies. It also suits to early-to mid-career professionals working in statistical or research institutes or teaching demographic analysis at universities who wish to strengthen their basic analytical skills and gain knowledge of advanced techniques for demographic analysis.
As one of the world's leading experts in computer application of demography, Sergei Scherbov has had a strong impact on advanced techniques for demographic analysis and has repeatedly been invited to give similar courses at institutes all around the world. He is also a winner of a prestigious Advanced Grant from the European Research Council (ERC) to study new measures of aging.
The event is organized by the College of Population Studies, Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with IIASA and the Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore from 23 November-4 November 2015 at Chulalongkorn University.
