She graduated from the University of Oxford in 2001 and completed her master's degree and PhD thesis in fisheries stock assessment at Imperial College, London.
Dr. Whitlock's research interests include developing and applying Bayesian statistical methods for fisheries stock assessment and decision analysis, fisheries ecology and management, and evolution of life-history traits resulting from harvest. She is now working on an EU FishACE project to apply eco-genetic modeling approaches that account for fisheries-induced adaptive changes to sturgeon stocks in the Caspian Sea.
