Energy Futures: A Critical Look at the World of Energy in 2030. On 17 April 2014, IIASA DDG/CEO Nebojsa Nakicenovic will participate in the closing plenary and will speak on future energy technologies and policies and their role in transforming future energy systems.

The conference, organized jointly by Yale Energy Studies scholars and the YCEI Student Congress, focuses on looking at the world energy mix in 20 years.  By focusing on today's energy projections, the conference seeks to examine key countries, sectors, technologies and policies that could possibly put humanity onto an alternative development path which is non-congruent with that of conventional predictions and policies.

The conference will conclude with a keynote speech by Rajenda Pachauri, chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, where he will speak on new climate-change projections from the new and upcoming IPCC fifth Assessment Report.
