Databases

The Energy Program hosts a growing number of databases for the integrated assesment modelling community, some of which are open to the wider public.

Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS) Scenario Explorer hosted by IIASA

The Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS) is a group of 65 central banks and supervisors and 12 observers committed to sharing best practices, contributing to the development of climate– and environment–related risk management in the financial sector and mobilizing mainstream finance to support the transition toward a sustainable economy. More

IAMC 1.5°C Scenario Explorer hosted by IIASA

This Scenario Explorer presents an ensemble of quantitative, model-based climate change mitigation pathways underpinning the Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5°C (SR15) by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) published in 2018. The ensemble was also used and extended in the IPCC's Special Report on Climate Change and Land (SRCCL, 2019). Scenario Explorer More

CD-LINKS Scenario Database

The CD-LINKS consortium has developed a set of consistent national and global low-carbon development pathways that take current national policies and the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) as an entry point for short-term climate action and then transition to long-term goals of 1.5 and 2°C as defined by the Paris Agreement.  More

Low Energy Demand study: LED

An exploratory research and resulting scenario about how far transformative changes on the energy end-use side can lead to. More

IPCC AR5 Scenarios Database

The IPCC AR5 Scenarios Database documents the long-term scenarios as reviewed in the Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) of Working Group III of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). More

SSP Scenario Database

The Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSPs) will be used alongside the Representative Concentration Pathways (RCPs) to analyze the feedbacks between climate change and socioeconomic factors, such as world population growth, economic development and technological progress.  IIASA began work in 2011 on quantifying one of the five SSPs. The Energy Program has spearheaded the cross-program collaboration with the Population and Ecosystem Services Management programs. More

LIMITS Scenario Database

The LIMITS Scenario database, operated by IIASA for the LIMITS consortium, hosts the results of the LIMITS modeling comparison exercise. The LIMITS project aims at advancing the understanding of the implementation of climate policies consistent with 2 degree Celsius. The main objective of the project is to provide an assessment of the emissions reductions strategies at the level of the world and the major global economies. More

AMPERE Scenario database

The AMPERE database, operated by IIASA for the AMPERE consortium, hosts the model results for work packages 2, 3, and 5, as well as the results from the model diagnostics project. AMPERE scenario data were used in a series of research papers, which were published in a special issue of Technological Forecasting and Social Change as well as other journals. In addition, the results were used in the 5th Assessment Report of Working Group III of the IPCC. More

Representative Concentration Pathways Database

A database with scenarios from the integrated assessment community to expedite climate change assessments More

Global Energy Assessment Scenario Database

The Global Energy Assessment (GEA) Scenario database documents results and assumptions of the GEA energy transformation pathways that underpin the GEA. The database serves as a central data repository for the dissemination of GEA scenario information. More

Greenhouse Gas Initiative Scenario Database

A database of greenhouse gas emission mitigation scenarios More
