The conference, which runs from 20 to 22 March, focuses on agriculture policies and practices that can help maintain food security, mitigate climate change, and adapt to changing climate climates. The conference focuses on three main themes: farm and food systems, landscape and regional issues, and the integrative and transformative institutional and policy aspects that will bridge across scales to link science and practice to ensure food security, poverty alleviation and multiple ecosystem services.

On 20 March, Obersteiner will give a talk entitled "Addressing planetary challenges through ecosystem management - An analysis of major synergies and trade-offs."
