Recently, resilience in socio-ecological systems has received attention from academic and public communities as a core concept in describing sustainability. The symposium titled “Resilience Thinking in a Changing World” is organized in order to disseminate this notion. Renowned speakers from around the world are invited to present their
innovative works in the area of eco-resilience. The symposium is designed to share new ideas and build tight networks among scientists, engineers, policy makers, and anyone interested in sustainability.

IIASA Participation

Ecosystems Services and Management Deputy Program Leader, Florian Kraxner, has been invited to give a presentation entitled "IIASA's possible Role in Mid-Latitude R/D Network" and Senior Research Scholar, Anatoly Shvidenko, will give a presentation entitled "Mid-Latitude Ecotone of the Eurasian Continent in a Changing World: Problems of the Xeric Belt" and will also function as session moderators.
