Read how IIASA works with research partners across the globe to deliver world-class research.
Science and policy must work together to achieve a sustainable future for humanity.
Tamás Krisztin joined IIASA's Ecosystems Services and Management (ESM) Program as a Research Scholar in April 2015. His current scientific interests include Bayesian and spatial econometrics. At IIASA, he is mainly contributing to the SIGMA project, where he is implementing an econometric downscaling framework for spatial explicit projection of GLOBIOM results along multiple socio-economic pathways and on improving the land-use change mechanisms in GLOBIOM.
Prior to coming to IIASA, he was employed at the Institute for Economic Geography and GIScience at the WU Vienna University of Economic and Business as a research and teaching assistant prae doc. He completed his PhD at the institute, focusing on modelling interregional freight flows in Europe, while taking into account spatial dependencies. During this time he also co-authored various research papers focusing on economic growth, spatial models of land use change and time-series forecasting.
