Albert Brouwer joined the Ecosystems Services and Management (ESM) Program in January 2018 as a Research Scholar. His research involves the development of infrastructure surrounding the GLOBIOM model and its linkages to other models. Other research interests include nutrition for health, precision agriculture and time-series analysis of ocean-borne anthropogenic acoustic signals.
Dr. Brouwer received his PhD in experimental physics from Leiden University, where he specialized in molecular spectroscopy. He has executed many IT projects for R&D and Security, among others at the European Space Agency (ESA), IMARES, Unilever Research, Philips Research, and Underwriters Laboratories. Before joining IIASA, Dr. Brouwer was employed at the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) where he was responsible for automated testing as well as the virtual Data Exploitation Centre (vDEC), a platform for providing treaty-verification data to the academic community.
