Bin Chen visited ASA, IIASA

Bin Chen from Beijing Normal University, China visited the Advanced Systems Analysis program on 1 August, 2017 and gave a talk on "Urban ecosystem modelling and resource management". 


Bin Chen is professor of ecological thermodynamics in School of Environment at Beijing Normal University. He is also a standing council member of China Energy Research Society. He obtained B.E. degree in electrical engineering from Zhejiang University, and Ph.D. degree in environmental science from Peking University. Dr. Chen has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers in prestigious international journals such as Renewable & Sustainable Energy Reviews, Energy, Applied Energy, Energy Policy, Bioresource Technology, Ecological Economics, Environmental Science & Technology, and Ecological Modeling. He has also been ranked in the Highly Cited Researcher List. Eight of his papers have been indexed in Elsevier/ScienceDirect Top 25 Hottest Articles. He also served or is serving as the Chief Editor of Energy, Ecology and Environment (E3), subject editor of Applied Energy, associate editor of Frontiers of Earth Science, Frontiers in Energy System and Policy, and an editorial board member of Ecological Modelling, Journal of Environmental Management, Ecological Informatics, Journal of Hydrodynamics, etc. He was also among the organizers and keynote speakers for various international conferences.
