IIASA at the Threshold of the Future Seminar at the Genshagen Castle

On October 17th, 2017 Gloria Benedikt delivered the keynote on the Visionary Potential of Art at the European Seminar on Democratic Development and Participation with special consideration of the potential of Art and Culture at Genshagen Castle in Geshagen, Germany.

The two day seminar entitled On the Threshold of the Future was organized by the Genshagen Foundation and supported by the French and German Ministries of Culture. In her presentation, Transformations to Sustainability: How Can Artists Support Democracy Building and Participation?, Benedikt discussed findings from the report The Art of Systems Analysis and presented the recent dance-science production InDilemma as an example of how art and science, when combined, can engage citizens in decision making in novel ways.
