Travel Assistance
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, IIASA does not recommend travel at this time. For this reason, IIASA will not be providing travel assistance for students to attend the in-person conference in Beijing.
Deadlines
The call for abstracts will close on 15 September 2021, 11:59 CEST.
The main author will be notified at the e-mail address provided during submission, whether their abstract has been accepted or rejected. All abstracts will be reviewed, and a final decision made by October 1 2021. Presenters will have until October 18 to upload their posters onto IIASA Connect.

The co-authors identified on the submission form will also be credited in the final conference program.
Commitment
The submission of an abstract constitutes a formal commitment by the main author to present the abstract as a poster in the online poster session at a time assigned by the organizing committee.
Withdrawing Your Abstract

Should Your Abstract be Accepted
Poster guidelines
To better fit the needs of the online conference, posters will be presented either in a PowerPoint slideshow format or as a Miro board. If your poster abstract is accepted, you will receive a slide deck/Miro board template to fill out with your information and research findings.
In addition, we will also provide a platform supporting a video presentation of the poster. We highly recommend the submission of both the slide deck/board and the video formats for your posters to maximize visibility.
Selected poster presenters will also be invited to present their posters at a live session during the conference.
Instructions on how to upload and submit your poster on IIASA Connect will be provided to poster presenters whose abstract have been selected. Please note that in order to submit your poster you will need to have completed your registration on IIASA Connect.
Poster voting
A voting system will be put into place on IIASA Connect. Each conference participant will be allowed to vote for their favorite poster (each participant is limited to 1 vote).
Voting opportunities will be available from the start of the conference on 20 October 2021, 14:00 CST / 08:00 CEST, until the end of the last poster blitz session on 22 October 2021 at 16:15 CST / 10:15 CEST.
Please note that viewing and commenting on posters will be possible any time after the posters published on the platform (starting end of September) and will still be available at any point during and after the conference, as IIASA Connect remains accessible.
Once voting polls are closed, the poster presenter whose poster will have gathered the highest number of votes will be pronounced Poster Award Winner. Should there be several posters with the same number of votes, the poster abstract review committee will proceed to a voting to elect the winner.
Poster award
The poster award winner will be announced during the closing remarks.
The poster award will be provided by IIASA and consist in offering the winner attendance to the next in person IIASA conference should travel regulations be relaxed and the pandemic situation allow. This will include the travel expenses and possibility to attend and present a poster at the conference (following the IIASA guidelines on travelling allowances).
