Katharina Schwarzfurtner joined the IIASA Population and Just Societies (POPJUS) Program in June 2021 and is part of the Equity and Justice (EQU) Research Group. She is currently working on the RECREATE project, which aims to identify roles, opportunities, and pathways for cities to foster circular economy in the context of climate change. She is mainly involved in building and managing relationships with stakeholders in Vienna, as well as conducting value elicitation exercises (We Value) with the project partner in China and facilitating a stakeholder policy exercise.
Schwarzfurtner holds an MSc (2020) in Environmental Resources Management and Ecological Engineering from the University of Life Sciences (BOKU, Austria) with a focus on Global Resources and Sustainability Management, which included a semester at Lincoln University (LU, New Zealand). She received her BSc (2018) in Environment and Bio-Resources Management from BOKU.
