Research Assistant Integrated Assessment and Climate Change Research Group
Energy, Climate, and Environment Program
Benjamin Mitterrutzner joined IIASA in December 2020, as a research assistant with the Energy, Climate, and Environment program, in the Integrated Assessment and Climate Change (IACC) research group. He is currently working under the GENIE project. Previously, he worked for a hydrogen research company and an automotive supplier company. His main research interests include CO2 capture, power cycles modeling and simulation, hydrogen technologies, negative emission technologies and solar radiation management techniques. The latter two are part of his current research activities at IIASA.
Mr. Mitterrutzner obtained his MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering and Business Economics from Graz University of Technology specializing in energy technology and CO2 capture in thermal power plants, modeling and simulation (2020). During his studies, he had the opportunity to go to Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and University of Stavanger (UiS).
