Biography
Bintang YUWONO joined IIASA’s Ecosystem Services and Management Program (ESM) in October 2017 with the research focus on examining the sustainability of negative emissions technologies, particularly Bioenergy and Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS), from both land-use and energy systems perspectives. More specifically, Mr. Yuwono deals with assessing downscaled implications of climate change mitigation scenarios from various Integrated Assessment Models (IAMs) using IIASA’s spatially explicit techno-economic model BeWhere coupled with the biophysical productivity models EPIC and G4M.Mr. Yuwono holds a bachelor's degree in Business and Management (Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia) and a masters's degree in International Business (HULT International Business School, USA). Prior to joining IIASA, he was a researcher with the Center of Research on Energy Policy, Institut Teknologi Bandung (CREP-ITB) in Indonesia where he contributed to the development of Indonesia’s AIM-CGE model for assessing the country’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) to the UNFCCC, especially within the energy sector.
