Options Magazine, Winter 2022: IIASA organized a series of celebratory activities with its member organizations throughout 2022 to celebrate 50 years of groundbreaking systems analysis research and opportunities to strengthen partnerships and collaborations with the global scientific community.

IIASA 50th anniversary celebrations will include a conference hosted by the Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) and IIASA. The event will build on the expertise and interlinkages between the system analysts’ communities in Asia to discuss and analyze transformative approaches to achieving sustainability across multiple stakeholder, sectors and regions.

Through the 50th anniversary of the institute, IIASA also celebrates opportunities to build capacity in systems analysis worldwide. In March, IIASA will host a virtual workshop in collaboration with the Royal Scientific Society of Jordan on using systems analysis to tackle global challenges.

The results of a four-year collaborative study by researchers from IIASA, Jordan, and Sweden, has led to the development of several recommendations for the Jordanian energy-policy process.
