Fifty Years of IIASA - Timeline

Since its launch in 1977, the IIASA Young Scientist Summer Program has attracted over 2,100 talented young researchers to spend a summer working with scholars from other nations and disciplines. Many have gone on to take leadership roles in academia, business, and government.

Vision

The IIASA vision for 2021 to 2030 is to be the primary destination for integrated systems solutions and policy insights to current, emerging and novel global sustainability challenges, threats, and opportunities.

Members

Each IIASA member country, shown in blue on the map, is represented by a National Member Organization which governs and funds the institute as well as acts as a bridge to link the country’s research and policy communities to IIASA.
